Ansko’s Fine Health Foods was established in 2006 in Perth Western Australia, by friends and health fanatics, Anna Mari Pitakanen (nickname – Ansko) and Romesh Fernando. Anna Mari is a passionate dancer and Romesh is a decorated boxer, who has represented Australia at the Commonwealth Games and many international boxing competitions
The two became friends when training at Romesh’s boxing gym in 2005. Anna Mari started to sell some handmade muesli, using her grandmother’s recipe from Finland. The demand for the product grew more than what Anna Mari could handle, making it out of her kitchen. The entrepreneur in Romesh spotted the opportunity and the today Ansko’s Muesli has gone onto become the best premium muesli product in the Western Australian market.
Today, Anna Mari resides in Rio, Brazil, following her passion, learning dancing in Rio. She still plays a key role in the business. Romesh is running the business in Perth with his team with plans to take Ansko’s Fine Health Foods to the next level, making our products available to all of Australia.
